Academic Core
Academic Core Overview
Marist achieves its ideal of excellence in under研究生, 研究生, 和 professional education by actively engaging each student through exemplary teaching 和 distinctive learning opportunities. At the under研究生 level, this begins with a firm foundation in the liberal arts 和 sciences. Through the Core curriculum 和 major fields of study, students learn to think logically 和 creatively, to synthesize 和 integrate methods 和 insights from a variety of disciplines, 和 to express themselves effectively orally, 以书面形式, 和 through media.

I. Academic Foundation 课程
Students typically take these courses in fall or spring of a student's first year. Both courses engage with at least one of the following themes: Cultural Diversity, Nature & the Environment, Civic Engagement, 和/or Quantitative Reasoning.

II. Distribution 课程
宽度 和 通路 courses may overlap, but students must complete a total of 36 distribution credits in order to 研究生. Students who have completed 宽度 和 通路 requirements in fewer than 36 credits can reach the threshold using any Core 宽度 or Modern Languages course.

- 4 courses engaging with an interdisciplinary topic
3. Skill Requirements
的 Skill requirements include “Intensive” Core or major courses in Technological Competency 和 in Public Presentation.
